So in an effort to find cheaper ink cartridges, I decided to give Abacus 24-7 a try. Ordered replacement black and color cartridges for my printer. This was in October.
Packge was shipped quickly enough, and I popped in the cartridges. They were working fine until earlier this month when the black cartridge continually gave my computer problems. I tested it with another cartridge I had (a working cartridge from the same exact printer in my brother's room) and it worked fine. So obviously there was a defect with the cartridge.
Abacus has a very good warranty (1 year, no questions asked) but it takes them FOREVER to respond to e-mails. On top of that, they don't even read the e-mails completely.
My first e-mail to them included all relevant information (Invoice #, Printer Model, Cartridge Model, what the problem was, and that I'd like an exchange). 3 days later I get an e-mail back asking what was wrong with the cartridge. I resent what I wrote in the original e-mail, and added a sentence or two. Then after another few days, they asked me if I wanted to exhange the cart. or get a refund. They asked this even though I said in both e-mails that I would like an exchange. So 3rd e-mail is sent, and I finally get RMA information.
I figured that this may just be a fluke, and my parent's needed cartridges, so I ordered a pair for them. However, due to their shoddy packaging (thin padded envelope with no extra packing) the black cartridge was broken on arrival. Opened up the package and black ink was everywhere. So I e-mailed them 3 days ago, and they finally get back to me. Once again, in the original e-mail I had included the Invoice #, Printer Model, Cartridge #, what the problem was, and what kind of solution to the problem I wanted. Their response?
Why can't they read?
Cliffs:
Abacus 24-7 has good prices.
Pretty fast shipping.
Absolutely horrible packaging and customer support.
Please consider this when ordering from Abacus 24-7.
