Probs installing HP 5p Scanner in W2K

I've installed and uninstalled my HP 5p scanner (ISA SCSI card) several times now (using HP's 2.9 software for W2K and all WinX) but W2K won't accept it. I've tried to reinstall the drivers but Device Manager won't recognize the various *.inf files as a legitimate driver, but will accept my forcing the install, but it still doesn't work. No problems in my W98 side of the dual boot.

I'm running Iwill KK266-R, Tbird 1.2, 512MB, Acoustic Edge (no SB Live and no Adaptec 5), my burner is on RMA so not installed. Any ideas?

Thanks

You most likely have to get a new scsi card....according to HP, that card is not supported in W2K. from HP's site:

<<
If upgrading to Windows 2000 Professional, HP recommends checking the SCSI card for compatibility. Some older HP Scanjet scanners (IIcx, IIp, 3p, 3c, 4c, 4p, 5p, and 6100C) that were shipped with rectangular- or triangular-shaped SCSI cards are not supported in Windows 2000 Professional.

here's a link to HP's site....linked, if ya read they will have a link to AdvanSys corporation to get an upgraded PCI scsi card....or ya could just get an Adaptec 2906 PCI SCSI card, or what have ya....I also have the 5P scanner, and have mine running off of my Adaptec 2940U2W card.

Thanks, Trashman. Not what I wanted to hear, but at least I know what's happening now.
