Problems with ZOOM X5 ADSL modem

I recently put up a long-range wireless network, sharing my internet with two other facilities. Ever since, my DSL modem screws up every day or two. It stays connected, but traffic slows to a crawl until it is power cycled.

Anybody else with a Zoom X5 see this problem? (Looks like it cannot handle high traffic to me.)

And what is the best high traffic modem for 3mb/1mb ADSL? (I'm leaning to a Cisco 678)

Thanks for any info

Any modem would do well at 3Mb/sec.

How many concurrent users can surf the Internet through the same Wireless Connection?

Otherwise if it is not overtasking the Internet Bandwidth it might be the Router part of the Combo.

If the x5 can be set to act as a modem only, set it to work as a modem and buy a decent Wireless Router.

I already have a separate router and am just using it as a modem. I don't see any way to turn off routing. The only reason I have it is that it's what my ISP set up

5 wireless users can concurrently use it. But I don't see how this is relevant....the Zoom X5 is not a wireless device. And with my router's bandwidth monitoring, I can tell that my DSL is rarely saturated, and when it is, it is just for moments and not extended periods of time.
