Problems with your Front Panel Ports

Over the years I have noticed many fancy and cheap cases with something they all seem to share in common: Neglect for the front panel ports/miniboards which have USB, 1394, audio, etc.

Nobody really pays much attention to these little boards which typically are about the size of the last digit of your thumb and are generally glued into place with clear caulk. As long as it works is all we really care about.

That's the thing though. If one of these ports or the miniboard were damaged then you need to contact the manufacturer. If they happen to have a side stache of these miniboards then you may be in luck in replacing a defective one. But these things are at the bottom line of manufacturing parts for computer cases.

In the past I had a damaged miniboard which Antec was extremely helpful about. They shipped out a couple replacement miniboards to me for free. Unfortunately their new replacements didn't fit the platic bezel bracket for the case I had which was a few years old. It only fit their late$t and greate$t cases.

It would be good thing for case manufacturers to have a replacement parts list.
