problems with x2 rig

Hey guys

I just bought a new X2 build and i think i might be having some video problems.

AMD X2 4400
2GB XMS corsair
EPOX nforce 4 ultra board
EVGA 7800GT 256MB version 517
80GB WD IDE hard drive
Antec truepower 2

I'm having alittle bit of a frame rate problem, i can turn everything up in BF 2 and get decent frames, 100 at most and 50 at the least, quake 4 gets 60 at most with 1000 res and everything on high. But i tried HL 2 loast coast turned res to 1200 everything on high, vert sync on, AA at 4x and antriscopic at 8x and i'm only getting 50 frames at most and 20 frames at the least. I heard that my version of graphics card has had problems with bad texture memory chips and thinking i maybe got one of the bad ones.

Also i'm only getting like 40 to 50 frames in fear with 1000 res and FSAA to 6x and everything else on medium with vert sync on.

What i'm lookin for is if this is normal behanvior for my build or if i should RMA this video card?

download and run Futuremark's 3DMark2005 and report your score to us so we can see if it's on par with what your system should be pumping out. 🙂
