Problems with x1650xt and cat drivers

Yep, that's the error message I get with a fresh xp pro sp2 install and my new HIS x1650xt.

I tried the driver disc, the catalyst package download 3 times, the standalone ati drivers 3 times & omega once. None of them would properly recognize my card and the ati ones all gave this error message.

any ideas?
 
Have you tried the 6.12 cats that were just released? I bought one of these cards, and the 6.12s are the only ones that recognize it.
