Problems with WRT54GX and DHCP

Hello, I recently purchased a WRT54GX Router and I set it up and everything with DHCP. However when my wireless computer connects to it, it doesn't always acquire a network address. Could this be the wireless computer's problem? I also have a Linksys wireless NIC the new external one with speed boosting. I thought the two would work perfect together and not acquiring a network address everytime gets pretty old. So any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I can establish a connection fine and MAC filtering is off. However I have encryption on and it makes a connection just doesn't always assign an IP address....

try to use static DHCP - that is, assign a fixed local IP to the PC based on its MAC. To do do, go to Administration::Management screen on the router, and in Dhcpd section, make sure dhcp is enabled, and in the text box type the desired IP, MAC and hostname separed by spaces.
