Problems with WIndows XP, ntfs and a ibm drive.

I just had a major crash last night and now I'm being told that it was because windows XP and ntfs along with a ibm drive is not a good combination. Anyone else heard anything on this?

Hmm.. I see... odd... I'm sorry that you and your friend had problems with your setups, but I think it's an IBM drive problem. That's my opinion though.

I must just be stupid then... the setup keeps hanging about halfway through then I get a big blue error screen and a memory dump, comp restarts and the restarts the install.

Just a shot in the dark here but if the drive had been partitioned previously something may be wacked out on it. Try writing Zeros to the drive and then see if you can install to an NTFS partition. The low level format in their Drive Fitness Test utility should do the job.
