It all started in this thread. Interestingly enough the VIA Miniport Drivers made my Maxtor DiamondMax 8 appear as a SCSI device, even though it's drive name has not changed. (It also made the IDE controllers appear as: Primary BM Ultra DMA Channel.) So all the properties in the Hardware Manager have changed also, however when I go to the tab with Write Caching all the options are greyed in.
And when I ran Microsoft BootVis it said "Warning: Write Caching not enabled!". Maybe im crazy for trying to get more than 92MB/s buffered read out of this hard drive (according to SiSoftSandra) but Im gonna try. 😉🙂
So my question was, because I cannot enable Write Caching using the drive properties is there a way to do this with the registry?
Thank you!
