Problems with Win XP networking. Please help!

One computer has WIN 98 (not second edition). The other computer has Windows XP.I setup the hardware, but configuring everything is giving me headaches. I added TCP/IP and NetBEUI on the WIN 98 machine. Next, I went to the XP machine and it took me through the networking wizard, where it created a networking disk. I assumed that the network disk that XP created was to be put on the WIN 98 machine, well I did that and nothing happend. The two computers are not seeing each whatsoever. Please if someone can give me a good way to start everything from scratch and get things working, I would really appreciate it. Oh yes, I did read the Anandtech FAQ on networking, however it doesnt mention anything about WIN XP. Happy Holidays!🙂
