Problems with webcam, USB ports.

Hi all

My old webcam broke, now I use a webcam a lot with my laptop for snap shots on my cars and msn. I bought a new creative webcam, however my laptop doesnt recognize that a new device is in one of the 4 ports (I'v tried all 4 ports). Also the auto run doesnt work off the cd, and when I do get somewhere with the installation of the drivers, it asks me to put the webcam into the USB ports, and it doesnt read any of them, help?
