I am a little new at this, so bear with me if I don't use the terms correctly!
I am trying to set up a VPN, so I can log into my tower from my laptop using a modem or any other connection that I can get to. I am running W2K on both computers. I am using a Linksys Router for my Cable Modem. I gave my tower a static IP address and put it in DMZ (since I am not sure what ports the VPN needs. Does anyone knows?)
I created the VPN Connection on my laptop using my wizard, and using the standard options.
On my Tower I created the "Incoming Connection". I used the option of specifying TCP/IP addresses, and specifed a range that falls outside what the Linksys Router assigns with DHCP.
When I login to the Tower using a modem, I connect fine, but when I try to access anything on the Tower, I get an error saying "Server Not Set Up to Do Transactions". I have no problems accessing the Laptop from the Tower through this connection. At one time it suddenly worked for no apparent reason, but now I am back to the same error
Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
Henrik
