Just got a cheapo Ati Radeon VE to use for TV-Out.Had a spare PC so it is going to be used solely for playing DVDs/Divx movies. The problem is that the lowest resolution I can go is 800x600 on XP which creates a black border on the bottom of the TV.When I used a Nvidia TV-Out before on the same TV,I used TV-Tool with 640x480 resolution and "fit to desktop" option enabled. The TV-out fit fine then.Is there anyway to get the same results on this card?
TIA:)

Latest Radeon display drivers let you adjust the image size and position, even for the TV-out. Do that.

Hmmm,I think I already tried that. The lowest the res will go is 800x600 so I tried to fit it to the screen with the 4 way directional arrows & the vertical/horizontal stretch and skew, but no matter how I try to adjust it,it won't go below this black bar on the bottom(About 1/2 inch, but it still annoys me:)).
I don't have the latest cat. drivers, but I believe the same option you are refering to is in the 2.? drivers I got.
Nevertheless,I might give the new cat. drivers a try anyways....

Any other thoughts?

Try this program. It is AWESOME. Let's you use a hot key to turn on or off output to TV and let's you set 3 modes for 640x480, 3 modes for 800x600 and 3 modes for some other resolution. TVTool I've used it for Playing EVO 4x4 (Original version) on my buddies TV and it worked great! -TAL

To select 640x480 as your resolution in XP, go to Display Properties -> Advanced -> Adapter -> Display All Modes. Kinda stupid how MS decided to hide that resolution.

1)I want to lower the resolution so the video output will fill the TV screen
2)Tvtool only works with Nvidia based cards, right?
3)I found the display all modes button, but when I press it a TON of options come up as to what to choose.Unfortunately I can't read them on the TV.I'll try to increase the font size later and try again.

Thanks for the help:)
