I just purchased two of these fans from a reputable vendor today, and they were working fine. I installed them correctly and allowed them to be used in "manual" mode with a control knob.
A few hours later, one of the fans decides to have a mind of its own and will not turn down; it is stuck at full blast. At first I think it is my control knob which is faulty, so I switch to a known working control knob and it doesn't work either. To be on the safe side, I use the once-working control knob that came with the TT Smart Case Fan II and it doesn't turn down the RPMs (and thus the sound) of the fan.
It appears to me that I got a faulty fan, but I may be wrong. Any suggestions or comments?
