problems with TNT2-M64 at high resolution

I have an I/O Magic (nVidia) TNT2-M64 32-megabyte AGP video card I am using in my home computer that has an ASUS CUSL2 motherboard with 700 MHz Pentium III processor and a Compaq MV920 19-inch monitor that supports up to 1600x1200 resolution at 75 MHz.
I am running Windows 2000 Professional.
I did not have trouble with the video until I recently upped the resolution to 1600x1200 at 75 MHz, at which time some video glitches started appearing even when just running 2-D Microsoft Office applications.
The video response time seems to be noticeably slower also, even on the Windows desktop.
I realize that the TNT2-M64 32-megabyte card is not the latest and greatest for 3-D games, but I think that performance with ordinary 2-D applications should not be a problem.
I am running the latest nVidia Detonator 6.67 drivers for Windows 2000.
Any suggestions?

AS a guess, technically the TNT2 M64 should be ok, but card manufacturers have the option to sticking to the Nvidia spec, surpassing it, or using crap parts, as iomagic has been known to do( i have had a few io parts). So it is a possibility that the card just is not up to snuff.

Since you're using a TNT based board and you're not interested in 3D games, it's probably better if you try the Detonator 1 (3.xx) or the Detonator 2 (5.xx) drivers. Try the official 5.22 drivers first.
