Problems with TMPGenc, please help.

I have the latest version installed and am trying to convert divx/xvid -> dvd. I have all the appropriate codecs installed. I also ripped out the sound as a wav file so that the sound source is from the wav and not from the avi file. Basically on the last page when I hit begin encoding, I get a error right away that says read error and quits. Can anyone please help? I get the same error on both of my computers using XP Pro SP1 and I have tried using other avi files, same result.

Ok.....so you're trying to convert to MPEG-2, right? Have you checked doom9.org or dvdrhelp to see if they have any guides that can help you? They might have a step or an explanation that you haven't tried. Also, are you using the TMPGenc free program or the plus trial? Have you converted other things to dvd before? The free version has very limited MPEG-2 conversion support. You might try using the trial version of TMPGenc Plus...since it will do MPEG-2 with no restrictions on size or how much. Good luck and keep us posted on what you try.
