Problems with the viewsonic VX2025

I finally got enough money saved up and purchased a nice new widescreen monitor for my computer. Since its just a plug and play monitor, i just tried switching my old monitor for this while the comp was still on, and i ended up getting a "no signal" from the new monitor.

I know it has to be something with my computer because i tried hooking the new monitor up to my parents comp, and am currently using it now to start this topic.

So basically, when i start up my computer with any monitor at this point, it gets past the boot screen, all the way until the "windows loading" screen finishes, then the monitor turns black and the monitor say no signal.

Ive tried everything i can to this point, and any suggestions as to solving this problem would be much appreciated.
 
Boot into safemode (F8), uninstall Video Card Drivers, run Driver Cleaner Pro

Now you should be able to boot into regular windows because we got rid of all the previous drivers/settings.
Install latest drivers of choice (I like XTreme-G for Nvidia, Warcats for ATI), reboot, enjoy 🙂
 
this is probably a stupid question, but what F key do you hold down to get the option to go into safe mode. I always thought it was the F8 key, but after holding it down from the time my computer starts, i only get the "boot menu."

After the bios screen is all finished keep pressing the F8 key till you get the boot menu were you can choose Safe Mode.

I ended up following your instructions and it worked out perfectly! It makes sense to uninstall the video card drivers, and i do not know how i browsed over that option.

For anyone that is wondering, the vx2025 looks fantastic. I watched Batman Begins last night, played some CSS (does this even support widescreen. the option did not even come up for me), and had two good sized firefox windows open while watching arrested development. Especially since this monitor ended up costing me $260 AR, i am very happy.

A quick question as to the XTreme-G forceware drivers. What exactly do they add to the regular nvidia drivers?
