I just bought this mb as part of a mb/cpu combo at fry's, and their manual is really kind of poor. They describe the connectors as HD_LED_P, which is easy enough to figure that that means the hard drive light, but they also have a HD_LED_N, RST_SW_N, RST_SW_P, and FP PWR/SLP. To make this even more confusing, the manual seems to be wrong. The motherboard has its own description for each connector while the manual has a different set. I found that the power on connector on the motherboard was corrrect, but I can't get anything else working, such as the hard drive LED or the power LED/reset LED.

The manual can be found here

thanks for any help

Try reversing the polarity. Usually what is printed on the mobo is correct and the book is wrong.
