Problems with soundmax with asus p4pe

I have an
Asus p4pe
2.4 ghz intel
512 mb ram
windows 2000 pro
128 aiw 8500

the motherboard has Soundmax sound card onbroad... I dont hear a nuthing.. I tried reinstall the soundcard updating the bios everything


if any one can point me in the right direction it would be helpful.

Is the Card disabled in the BIOS. If not and you have the most updated drives. The sound chip or headset plug could be bad. Ape Out.

Are you overclocking? I ask because myself and others have the soundmax crap out at 150+FSB. Also, have you checked all the physical connections like making sure it's plugged in the right jack, that the speakers are working, the volume on everything is turned up, and that it appears in the device manager?
