I have 4 speakers selected using Audio HQ and when I run the test all I get is: Front Left, Front Right. Is there a reason the rear speakers aren't registering?

Are you sure you have the rear speakers plugged into the woofer and the woofer plugged into the soundcard correctly?

Speakers are plugged into the woofer correctly as it worked fine on my old system a P2 with ATI Rage. I think everything is plugged into the sound card correctly as I corresponded green with green and black with black.

Make sure... "Digital output only" is not check under Windows volume control (Main volume... advanced)

Might have some defective hardware :(

Dig output only unchecked. I hope the hardware is not defective. I'll keep playing til something gives...

jh0sken612: If you run a test on the speakers with the test provided in Audio HQ does it say Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left and Rear Right. Mine only acknowledges front left and right, but playing a DVD I hear it in all speakers. Let me know what you get.

problem finally solved guys. It was a combination of things. MD3 was engaged. Audio input connection was loose and a few other stupid mistakes. Sometimes you really can't see the forest through the trees! Thanks for all the help! :)
