I'd just like to know if there are any known problems/compatibility issues between SoundBlaster Live!/Value/Platinum/Audigy's and Windows XP.
See i just installed Win XP Pro, and am using a Soundblaster Live! Value card with all the XP drivers loaded (both from Creative's website and via Windows Update). Problem is; when im playing certain mp3's i can hear some faint static at certain loud parts of a song. This isn't noticable in all songs, just some. My old OS was WinME (i know i know) and i never heard this static before. I've tried it with and without XP drivers, but still this static sound remains. I've also messed with and adjusted the SB Live audio properties, still no luck. Formatted ans re-installed XP, same thing.
Am i screwed here? Should i look into another sound card? I woujldnt mind a switch since im using a KT133 chipset for my mobo, and i heard it doesnt like SB Live anyways. While im at it, how do the card's from Phillips (Acoustic Edge) and Turtle Beach (Santa Cruz) work with XP?
