Problems with sound and My HTPC

Guess this is the right place.

Right now I have a self made htpc with my hd tv and a nice jvc reciever. However when the computer is on and connected to the reciever there is a rather annoying buzzing sound coming out of the speakers. Thinking that this was just a interference issue I started unplugging every cable to figure out which cable was causing the problem. It ended up being the cable wire.

Is this an EMI shielding problem? What could I put on the wire or what cable wire should I use to solve this?

I'd guess general hardware would be a better place.

The totally random thought that popped into my mind after reading your post is you've got a ground loop going on that's causing your interference. That's probably totally wrong though.

If it's a nice receiver, try using optical out instead? Or at the very least, digital coax?
