I have an SK8V and FX-53. I just got a new Dell 1905FP. It is beautiful, BUT . . .
the monitor has a USB hub built in which I'd find convenient to use. I hooked it up with the included USB cable, trying each of the six USB jacks on my computer (two on the front of my Antec SLK 3700 AMB, and four on the rear of the computer (the MB). Always the same problem:
the BIOS takes abbout four or five full minutes to complete the 'initializing USB' portion of the BIOS before finally booting up Windows XP Pro. Then, finally, everything works fine, including the printer which I have connected to the USB port on the monitor.
By contrast, if I do not plug in the USB cable from the computer to the monitor, everything works just fine, running the BIOS and booting up relatively quickly, just as it always did. I should add that I never had any trouble booting up with the printer or a camera dock plugged into the USB port on the computer. The problem seems only to be with connecting the USB hub on the monitor to the computer.
Help, please!?????
Thanks!
