It works.. but not in Quake3. I have it set the same as I did for my old Logitech mouse. even using the same drivers (the newest that are off the Logitech site) I used to be able to use the mwheelup and mwheeldown for selecting 2 of my favorite weapons.. now, it won't work in q3.. I can't even re-bind it in the menu... i move the scroll wheel up and down and it does not take the bind... anyone have ANY idea what I can do? I have tried the registry hack for gamers from the Logitech site, I have the latest point release of q3, I have the latest mouse drivers from Logitech, I also have the mouse set for MS compatible scroll only and in active window only... which is what i needed to have my last mouse work too.. this is really kinda bugging me.. i haven't even tried the other 4 buttons on the mouse yet in fear it will be the same way. I'd love to get my scroll working though!!!

Same mouse here and similar scrolling issues.

Try this which seems to work for me in XP.

- Disable scrolling from Mouseware
- get TweakUI from MS Powertoys
- enable scrolling from TweakUI.

Ok - I just tried to set up my brand-spankin-new MX500 on a Win 2k machine. As with everyone else, I couldn't get the scroll wheel to work in games and it behaved erraticaly in other apps. I tried to do what everyone suggested - I set the scrolling to "none" but when I went to Tweak, the "use mouse wheel for scrolling" option was greyed out - I couldn't activate it. :frown: I rebooted, but no change. I also found that I could still scroll in some programs - such as MusicMatch but not in others such as Windows Explorer or Word.

So I uninstalled Mouseware, and it works fantastic now. Scrolling is just right (even in Wolfenstein) and the forward and back buttons work. The only button that doesn't seems to be the ALT-TAB one, but I guess I can live without that and assigning other functions until LT puts out better software (and based on some of the comments of this board, I'm not gonna hold my breath...).

Really, really nice mouse. Such a shame LT can't get their act together when it comes to their software. :(
