Problems with router and teamspeak, BF2

My roommate and I have intermittent problems with teamspeak (client) one of us can connect fine, but the other has problems hearing other people in the channel. The sound comes back all choppy for him. However, we can hear him fine. He has no other problems with his sound card, so thats not an issue.

In addition, sometimes when we try to join the same server in BF2, whoever is the second trying to connect gets an error message from bf2.

I don't know much about networking, just enough to get by. Does this have something to do with ports? I know how to forward ports, if that is the problem. Any insights guys?

Edit: Or does this have something to do with IP addresses? Thanks!
