Problems with refurbished Sony G500!

I just got a refurbished Sony G500 from ubid. The monitor arrived in great condition, no screwed up packing, blemishes or noticeabla problems with the screen. However, the monitor will not remember settings when turned off. Also, after waking up from sleep mode, the windows screen is sorta fragmented with icons of both sides of the screen and two half inch black lines from top to bottom about two inches from each side. I am using an asus 7700 geforce2 and did not have the latter problem with my iiyama 450 that the sony replaced. I think I will probably have to RMA the monitor, but I wondered if anyone else has had problems with the geforce2 cards and trinitron monitors? Seems I read somthing somewhere about the ultras having problems but I can't find the reference. I was hoping for some other opinions before I pack this monster up and sent it back. Thanks
