Problems with Recycle Bin - Help please

I can't empty my recycle bin. There are 3 files in there that I can't get rid of. When I try to look at what the files are, the bin is empty, no files at all. I get this error when I right click and empty:

Cannot delete _______ : Cannot find the specified file.
Make sure you specify the correct path and name.

Can anybody help please? Thanks in advance.
 
tried booting in DOS, and simply deleting the Recycled folder before windows boots? upon botting windows will recreate the folder, no harm done
