Problems with P4P800 SE, looking to upgrade

Think I'm having problems with the motherboard. Initially thought it was the hard disk as there were some errors, and I bought a new hard disk and this didn't help.

Funny thing is, re-installed Windows was able to boot up but it sometimes hangs up after logging in. I am also not able to see the built-in LAN adapter.

1. Anyone knows how to troubleshoot this?

2. If I really cannot solve the problem, what would be a recommended motherboard to replace it, that I can use all other existing components on.

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked your bios to see if the lan is enabled? Loaded all the motherboard cd drivers? Or changed any settings recently or jumpers on your new hardrive? Before getting a new board, do some simple checks and you might save yourself some dough. If you really need a new board, I recommend one with the 865pe Intel chipset and 4 memory slots for running in single or dual channel mode. I use msi, but abit or asus should work fine. My msi is a tweaker's board, not for inexperienced users.
