Does anyone else have problems with outlook 2002 running on winxppro?

I had no problem running outlook 2002 on my old machine, using winpoet pppoe to connect to my DSL connection, but now with the new machine, using the built-in pppoe, I can download my email but I can't send email. The SMTP server always has a timeout problem.

What gives?

My ISP's tech support insists it's a problem with outlook 2002, which seems to be the problem because outlook express and eudora have no problems sending email. This is really frustrating as I need outlook as I have all my old email organized w/ outlook, syncs to my Palm, etc. Crap!

Any help would be really appreciated.

I figured out the problem!!!! After scanning through a bunch of MS newsgroups, I found out that Norton Antivirus 2002 scans your outgoing email every time you try and send mail. Well this prevents the email from being sent, as it has given me a 100% timeout issue. #*(&#(*&#!!!! Norton piece of #(*&#(* software!

Anyway, I'm happy to have figured out the solution to my own problem. :D

Sorry dude.. I'm running XP pro with Office XP and my outlook runs fine. Sometimes the send mail will time out, but that's usually when my cable modem is being hella slow.. hope it works out for you
