Does anyone else have problems with outlook 2002 running on winxppro?
I had no problem running outlook 2002 on my old machine, using winpoet pppoe to connect to my DSL connection, but now with the new machine, using the built-in pppoe, I can download my email but I can't send email. The SMTP server always has a timeout problem.
What gives?
My ISP's tech support insists it's a problem with outlook 2002, which seems to be the problem because outlook express and eudora have no problems sending email. This is really frustrating as I need outlook as I have all my old email organized w/ outlook, syncs to my Palm, etc. Crap!
Any help would be really appreciated.

:disgust:
I figured out the problem!!!! After scanning through a bunch of MS newsgroups, I found out that Norton Antivirus 2002 scans your outgoing email every time you try and send mail. Well this prevents the email from being sent, as it has given me a 100% timeout issue. #*(&#(*&#!!!! Norton piece of #(*&#(* software!
Anyway, I'm happy to have figured out the solution to my own problem.
