Problems with Outlook 2003 mail!!!

Whenever I recieve a new Email in my Outlook 2003 it is visible in the Inbox like it is supposed to. If I do not read that message first and I click on my contacts or another folder the mail in my Inbox will disappear.

I am only able to find the email if I do a search and guess where it is when I do the search? Its in the Inbox folder still but I cannot view it in the Inbox unless I do a search for it.

Ca anyone help?
