The problem occured to me when I tried to watch a movie on my laptop this morning when it dint auto play so i went to "my computer" to manully play it but the opitcal drive icon wasnt there so i went to device manager and found that something was wrong with my opitcal drive...i then went to "add hardware" but at the end it gave me this message:"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"...wut should I do?...it was working fine untell i installed longhorn inspirat the other night could this be the problem(I unistalled it btw)

Try uninstalling the drive in the device manager then reboot windows and let it auto detect. Also, make sure that the drive is working in Bios. A good test would be to set it as the first boot device and put a boot disk in the drive then see if it will boot from the disk.
