Network topology:
1 - Linksys WRT54g running Sveasoft Alchemy 6.0-rc4
.........Uses WPA-PSK, MAC Filtering, AES
2 - Desktops connected using 10/100 interfaces
2 - Dell Latitude C600 laptops using Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG cards
.........Both use Intel PRO/Wireless 9.x.x utility, WZC Service is disabled
.........Both use Windows XP with SP2
I am having problems with DHCP on one of my laptops. It's counterpart will connect to the network and in a matter of 30 seconds get an IP address off of the network. This one will sit with it's hard drive activity light ablaze for minutes and get nowhere. Windows doesn't even have the computer with the moving light to indicate "getting an address".
I have used many different firmwares on the router, reinstalled Windows twice, replaced the PRO/Wireless 2200BG card to no avail. In addition, the Event Viewer logs show that the router failed to give the laptop an IP address. Although, the laptop associates with the network just fine.
After about 30 min, the computer will finally get an IP address.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
