Ohh no, problems with the onboard sound controller.

When I am playing e.g. mp3 tracks in Winamp under Windows 2000, the sound hangs after a couple of minutes. I have tried everything I can think of to solve the problem. I have updated BIOS, tried different driver versions (sound & Via 4in1), tried ACPI enabled/disabled. The sound controller is currently not sharing IRQ with any other device. Sound works fine under Windows 98. Any ideas how to solves this anoying sound problem?

I had the same problem in win me... I tried all the different drivers (111b and c and the 120a beta)... and no luck.. so I went to my own computer and tried my onboard sound (the asus k7v...) I had the 108 drivers installed and it worked great... so I took the asus cd to the other computer and installed the 108 drivers, win me almost refused me.. but after some extra menus and things, I got it installed, and now it is working great.

I tried a similar post as yours for a couple of weeks ago because of this problem, but no one answerd.. annoying..

If you can't find the driver on the net, I'll try to zip it and put it somewhere if you want to...
Hope this will help!

And what other components do you have? This one is a t-bird 1000, with 45 gb ibm harddrive, 256 mb ram, dvd and cdrw... Perhaps this is a fault with the win me and win 2000 drivers from via? or could this be a problem with the msi board?
