Problems with OC and X800 Pro

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a problem that I am experiencing. I just bought a x800 pro, but the problem is that the system is not stable at OCed speeds. I was running a mobile XP 2600+ at 2.45 GHZ with 163 mhz fsb that was solid with my 9800 pro. However, with the x800 pro in the system, I have to run the system at the default clock speed. At regular athlon xp 2600 speeds, the system is stable, but I bought the mobile so I could OC and would prefer to increase the speed of the processor.

I have thought of a few possibilities and was wondering if you guys could help me figure out what it is.
1. Power Supply issue: I have an Antec 430W and have managed to isolate one lead for the X800 Pro, but I'm wondering if perhaps low power is messing with my system. If this is the case, can anyone recommend a good, relatively inexpensive 550W or more PSU to upgrade to? I'm kinda low on cash cause of this video card.
2. My MSI KT3 Ultra2 has no AGP/PCI lock so the overclocked FSB might be messing with the card. The thing is that my Vistiontek 9800 Pro has no problems running at the OCed FSB so I'm not sure if this is it. If this is the case, any recommendations for a good replacement MB?
3. X800 Pro is defective. I've heard that it requires only as much power as the 9800 Pro so I assumed that I would be fine. Also, when I first installed the card and didn't have the card in its own power line, I experienced massive texture corruption and errors in all 3d games or applications I tried.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out here. See my sig for system specs. Thanks.

It's your motherboard. You really need to upgrade to an Nforce2 Ultra board that has the AGP/PCI lock. Just because your 9800 card was able to handle the high AGP frequency does not mean that your x800 can. A lot of video cards will freak out at anything over the normal 66mhz bus.
Having the AGP/PCI lock is a must in overclocking!

Good Luck! :)
