Ive taken the liberty of trying to inform the community of the following problems with nVidia geforce drivers and the issues with GTX400 series cards, also known as Fermi.

Nvidia has said they are not happy with gtx480 series. And they hope to make an even better card for their next generation/shrink of the current generation. lets hope they succeed and dont stumble like they did with this generation in regards to power envelopes, heat and prices.

the following are some problems that need attention and that potential buyers should be aware of:

GTX 480 will not boot into Windows:

Please notice that i belived creating one topic on the forums for each of these problems would be best. But after some consideration, i thought this was the correct way of addressing and informing the community of the faults with GTX400 series of cards and the nVidia drivers, which seem to be plummeting with this generation of cards. Lets hope they get better, soon.

I fail to see the value in someone googling for random GTX400 problems and posting them up.

If you want to discuss something specific then do so, but this thread looks suspiciously like baiting, so I’m locking it.

Yeah, Nvidia told me that I should buy an ATI card or wait for their next generation. I'm on their self-hate mailing list.

Srsly, what's wrong with people?

MatCatAtlas, is this a parody thread or a serious one. I'm not one for guessing. If it's a parody thread, it will be locked. If it's serious, it'll stay open. You tell me.

EDIT: Ah, BFG opted for the lock. Beat me to it.

Perfectly happy with my EVGA GTX 480, No issues to speak of vs. my previous EVGA GTX 260.

When can we get some new firmware to replace BIOS in people's brains that makes them retarded fanboys? Would be the best upgrade ever.

I didn't know people were even buying these cards to experience these issues!

On a side note it appears the GTX 465 is problem free or is it still too early?

I see some people are laughing, and good for them.

This is not a parody topic, if it was, i wouldnt be giving links to a serious forum with that much work in linking/naming the link.

The main point of this compilation topic, is to inform those who wish to make a GPU purchase, about the problems or issues of the GTX400 series of cards and the drivers released for this series of cards.

This topic will be updated when we get more feedback from users of the GTX465 and then the GTX460.

If you could clean up the ot-posts, it would be appreciated.
