Problems with no smoking in bars?

Cities all around the USA are putting bans on smoking. In my town, this ban is being discussed, and might go into effect soon. I know that this is pissing me off. Who can say where I can or cannot smoke? You say that it's bad for your health? Then leave you mocha latte triple whip soy milk sprinkle of hazelnut drinking douchebag. Or, if it does go into effect, then I have an idea. Go back to old western times and chew tobacco. If we can't smoke in bars, but still need our nicotine hit, I don't understand another method for getting it. Screw people. I want to be able to sit anywhere I want talking with my friends, and if I want to, get my nicotine. Also, when the yuppies see you spitting long blobs of brown tobacco juice, they just might be disgusted enough to leave, and never come back. Thus, you'll filter out all the yuppies that are against smoking in the first place, and have only smokers come in. Maybe now you can smoke in a bar again.

EDIT: Yay, my 1024 post! I've got a gig!

If I worked in a bar and saw you doing that, I'd throw your dirty, smelly ass out and not ever let you back in.

your rant sucks and if you want to chew go right ahead. But be warned there will be dire consequences if your spit touches myself or my drinks or that of my friends.

I'm not dirt, smelly, or anything you think I am. I am actually doing rather well for being my age.

I've been agonizing over a way to settle this issue to everybody's satisfaction. For the record, I smoke.

Now, I have no problems banning smoking in restaurants. Heck, I hate smelling smoke when I'm eating. So that's clear.

Bars: I believe it should be up to the individual bar owner. But since the smoking nazi's won't go for that, here's a solution: Government allows 25% of bars in a state to permit smoking. Bars that WISH to participate sign up for a lottery. If more than the allowed amount sign up, a random drawing is done.

What sucks is here in CO they're considering a complete ban on public smoking. It seems this includes OUTDOORS.

Fvcking nazis.

Chewing tobacco is just about the nasties thing anyone can do in public. Thos filthy spitoons/cups make me shudder in disgust.

I am a non-smoker and I think the banning of smoking in bars is stupid. If people don't want to breathe smoke in an establishment, DON'T GO THERE!

So people have to leave because YOU want to do something? You want to want be able to sit smoking and talk with your friends but others arent allowed to the same in a non-smoking enviroment.

I'll tell you exactaly why that ban was put in too effect.
If you wanna ruin your health by smoking, fine! But others don't have to suffer for it!
there are today only 1 in 3 people who smoke. passive smoking is JUST as harmful as active smoking! you wanna put cyanide and ammonia in your body, fine! no one cares about you. you wanna kill your self? commit suicide? fine! but others don't have to suffer for you stupidity! you wanna chew tobacco? you know what happens? you lose all your teeth and then get throat cancer and have to have you lyranx (voice box) taken out and talk through a machine! i've seen it happen in real life! it's a good thing that the US gov. has finally imposed that law! in Israel it has been in effect for years! I don't think a lottery would work just because it would be randomly biased doesn't make it any more favorable. In the end it is something that unfortunately affects other people so the government will somehow find a way to get it out of every bar eventually. It seems like one of those things that isn't quite right, but necessary.

Dude I smoked for years and if I remember correctly there is no such thing as a substitute for a cigarette, nothing will satisfy your craving but a cigarette, so your idea won't work. I feel for you though, smoking bans suck. Hopefully it fails in your town.

How many times have you been forced into an establishment where there is smoking?

Dip works wonders.

I really hope that the law does not come into effect either.

No, I wouldn't. I would spit in a spitoon, or a cup. Both methods were used in the old west.

That's much more tolerable than smoke I could breathe in.
