I just got my new US Robotics 2410 wireless PC card today and I'm having all sorts of trouble trying to get it to see my AP (D-Link 614+). I've installed and uninstalled the drivers (ver 1.33 - both off USR support and the CD) at least three times, and nothing seems to help. I try to run the Configuration Utility that came on the CD, but I keep getting an "Unable to connect to the Network Agent driver" error - the manual indicates that this is normal if you run the utility prior to installing the card drivers, but I've already installed the drivers. arrgh! In addition, device manager indicates that the card is working properly and the light on it blinks a lot.
Here are the important settings:
Router
SSID: default
Channel: 6
WEP: disabled
Card
SSID: the configuration tab on the US Robotics Wireless LAN Utility doesn't have an SSID entry, only a Profile Name - tried 'default' and 'Default' - and Network Name - tried 'default' and 'ANY'
Channel: 6 (though it does scan other channels since it's not getting a signal)
WEP: disabled
Adhoc Demo Mode: Disable
Authetication Algorithm: tried both 'Shared Key' (default) and 'Automatic based on WEP security'
Any ideas?
Edit: Network Name is SSID. Tried 'ANY' 'default' and 'Wireless' on router/card. Played with preambles and flashed card to firmware 1.04.09.00, still no luck.
Edit: The Throughput box in the status window indicates that the card is receiving, but not transmitting. Don't know if that helps narrow it down ...
Edit: I neglected to mention that I have a Netgear wired router sitting in front of the D-Link router, so I only want to use the D-Link as an AP. So, how should I connect the two? Regular port to regular port? Do I need a crossover cable?
