Problems with new vid card

I put a BBA X800 Pro ViVo flashed to X800 XT PE in my system yesterday. The thing generally runs fine except sometimes there are large lag spikes (not network related) when I play games like Counter-Strike Source. I was wondering if this could be related to a weakish power supply. What happens when a card doesn't recieve enough power??

I'm using an MGE PSU that came with my tower, only 400W with 17A's on the 12v rail, so I thought it might just be a power issue.

Any thoughts??
 
usually when the card doesnt have enough power it might artifact (if pushed too hard) or it just doesnt perform like it should.

try a different PSU, if that doesnt work, you might try to put your card back to what it came as, or try a different card
 
Excellent. I hoped that was the problem (as I'm looking for a new PSU at the moment anyways)
