I have a Netgear WGR614v4 router set up in my on campus apartment. It works fine, except that there are a few websites that it can't find, like www.ebates.com. So i disconnected the router, connected directly to the internet, and tried, and it worked no problem. Then I reconnected the router and I can now browse to that website no problem. Doesn't make any sense to me. Also, sometimes I just feel that my internet is being slowed down a little, could the router cause this? Sometimes I'll try to go to a website, and the webpage can't be found, but I just hit refresh and it goes straight there. I checked my hosts file and it's all normal there.

Also, one site in particular, forums.xbox-scene.com, won't work for me regardless if I'm going through the router or not, is this related?

Try checking the router's statistics to see if it's rebooting itself.

"Advanced" -> "WAN Setup" -

Check "Default DMZ Server" and put in the IP of the computer that you want to have most of the traffic. It might be helpful to reserve that IP address by MAC address. Do that by clicking on "LAN Setup" under "Advanced" in the left pane and then click the "Add" button under "Address reservation" in the main content frame.

You could have a faulty firmware version that does not allow it to populate the DNS tables correctly. You could also try reverting back to an older firmware or finding a newer one.

Your problem seems common, and you should be able to find a solution if these don't work easily enough with google.

What's your firmware on the router? I know that I just updated to v5 the other day and that supposedly fixed a problem with DNS issues.
