Problems with my SCSI CDR

hi folks,

i recently upgraded my pc to a 750mhz duron on a epox 8k7a. after a fresh install of win98, my cdr is no longer recognized in windows. when i went to check the device manager, i notice that my scsi controller has the following issue:

This device is using an Interrupt Request (IRQ) resource that is in use by another device and cannot be shared. You must change the conflicting setting or remove the real-mode driver causing the conflict. (Code 30)

i'm not really sure what i would need to do to correct this problem. what is a real-mode driver, and how do i remove it? i went to look for the device that is sharing the irq with my scsi controller and it turns out that it is my NIC. i dunno if i can live without my NIC, since i am on cable. can someone offer me some tips or suggestions? please help 🙁

Check the fine print in the manual and on the Epox site. YOu may have to abandon a PCI sot. In a recent project I had to leave #2 PCI slot empty as anything I installed would have to share an IRQ with the RAID controller 🙁 MIght be as simple as moving to another PCI slot. You said SCSI CDR - check your SCSI stuff in safe mode and make sure everything is there!! Good luck
