I am putting my new box togethter and am having problems. Here are the spec's

K8T Master2-FAR
dual opteron's 240
512MB of pc2700 registered memory
Powercolor ATI 9700 standard

When i try and load Windows XP (32bit edition) I get the computer all up and running and installed the VIA 4 in 1 drivers then the latest ATI cat drivers and now when ever i boot I loose video out about 3/4 the way threw the windows xp boot process and never get it back. If I restart and choose last know good configuration so it uninstalls the ati drivers everything works. I also tried using older cat drivers with the same result. Any one have any idea's?

Turns out it was Via AGP drivers. Did a clean install since there was no way to remove the AGP drivers and the video card drivers installed great without the AGP drivers. So the big question is why even install that driver?

why? so you can get agp acceleration and all the speed boosting goodies that come with it of course. not sure why you can't get the drivers to instal, but your not getting nearly the potential of your videocard running without them.
