Problems with my new SMT 5600

I just bought an SMT5600 off of ebay recently. Well it finally arrived and seems to be working fine except that I can't get it to sync with my computer. My computer doesn't even seem to acknowlege that it is plugged in. It charges through the USB fine though.

I have tried different cables and even different computers. I used the included software on the CD and downloaded the newest version of active sync.

When I go to activesync and tell it to connect to my phone, it just keeps saying "Your device was not detected."

I don't even see it anywhere in my device manager.

I'm pretty sure at least some communication is happening with my computer and the phone though. Every time I try to sync from my computer, the phone itself says "errors" and lists the time I tried to sync.

I hope the phone isn't broken.

Bump anyone? I just did a reset on the phone so it is back to factory specs. I still can't get it to sync.

hmm...i have the same problem with my SMT 5600. Im curious how this gets fixed
