Problems with my new DRU-510a...

I purchased a internal DRU-510a drive thinking that I could replace the CD-RW drive in the external 1394 Sony CD-RW drive I had from a few years back with the new drive. Sony Spressa iLink CRX1600L

However, XP recognizes the entire unit as the CRX1600L and not the DRU-510a, rendering the drive useless, Stomp Recordnow MAX doesn't detect any writable drives and Nero won't burn to it either. I updated the DRU-510a's firmware but it shouldn't affect the way XP defines it.

I don't want to have to go out and buy a new enclosure for my drive, so are there any solutions out there for me?
 
It sounds like the 1394 repeater is proprietary for that (other) burner.

To use your new drive you'll either have to mount it internally and run it off an ATA channel, or buy a Pyro Drive Kit.
