I use a headset with mic over Vent while playing some games, and Ive recently had problems with it being recognized/working after a computer restart. I just built the computer a couple weeks ago, and this is my first experience with Vista so Im wondering if Im overlooking something obvious.
Im using the onboard sound on my P965-DS3. After each system restart if I want to be able to use the mic in Ventrillo I have to unplug/replug the mic cord into the back of the computer. The Sounds menu in the control panel always show the device as enabled and working - but after I unplug/replug it, I have to go into the other sound folder in the control panel (has sound recognition etc) and setup the headset again. Then it works no problem.
I was wondering if there is a way I can avoid having to do this after every restart, or if I'll need to install a sound card - I have one on my old computer I could use if necessary.
Thanks for any help!
