I have a Lenovo T61 on Vista 32 Ultimate with 9-cell battery (if that matters.) A week ago, I tried to use it after not having used it at all for a few months. As you can imagine, the battery showed empty even though it was fully charged before I stopped using it. Anyway, I noticed a problem as, when I tried to go into Control Panel to uninstall a program, the system stalled for over 5 minutes before I finally Ctrl-Alt-Del to cancel the process. When I try to delete something, it also takes forever (10+ minutes) and doesn't always work. Yesterday, it took 15 minutes to shutdown. This is now a constant problem every time I turn it on. Did I damage something hardware-wise by not using it so long or is Vista just corrupted and in need of a reinstall?
On a separate note, would I be able to use my Vista dvd that I use for my desktop with the OEM key for the laptop or do I have to use the Lenovo Recovery Disks?
Any help is appreciated!
