problems with my desktop spanning dual monitors

GoingUp

Lifer
Just got my second 2001fp today

I have a BFG 6600GT OC card. Both monitors are hooked up via dual DVI.

Here is the problem that I have.

Due to my desk setup, I want my main monitor to be the one on the right and my secondary monitor to be the one on the left.

I have a sweet sistine chapel wall paper that I created. The problem is that it always starts from the primary monitor and then goes to the secondary monitor. This breaks the picture up because the right half of the picture ends up on the left side of the primary monitor.

Is there anyway that I can make a desktop background start on the secondary monitor and then goto the primary monitor?

Can I just divide the picture in half and create two different wallpapers?

In display properties you can specifiy which monitor is number 1 and number two AND which orientation. Just drag the monitors around until they're oriented the way you want them.

The only thing I could think of that you could do, is divide the picture in half, then paste it back together with the right side of the picture on the left side.

Oh, re-reading your post I realize I misunderstood. I THINK you mean that the wallpaper repeats itself instead of continously going from one monitor to the other?

That's normal. Windows doesn't natively support full desktop wallpapers in multimon.

You need to download UltraMon. That's what I use: http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/

I think you still misunderstood what he is saying. The wallpaper does continue from one monitor to the other, the problem is that his primary display is on the right monitor, so the wall paper starts on the right, then the right half of the picture spans over to the left monitor..I'll use the word four to demonstrate..urfo..

Then my original answer is correct. You reverse the orientation of the monitors in Display Properties, settings tab. Just drag the monitor pictures around. Monitor 1 should be on the left. Monitor 2 on the right.

Read his original post again..he wants his primary display to be on the right due to his desk setup..

THen I don't think he can do it. Wallpaper runs from upper left monitor 1 across to monitor 2. Don't think you can do it any other way. He's have to swap the order.
