Ok, I have no clue what's going on but I booted up my computer the other day and I tried to play a video, and the picture got all stretched out, then I go to play UT2k4 and everything is messed up! Here are my specs:

- Athlon 64 3000+ (not overclocked)
- BFG 6600GT OC PCIe (not overclocked)
- 512mb Kingston PC3200 RAM

What I know / what I have done:

- Only some videos get messed up, not all of them
- It is not the media player, I have tried several different media players...
- I ran several different spyware scans, all good
- I made no major changes or installed anything that I know of to make this happen.
- I have the latest drivers from nvidia and I even reinstalled them to make sure...didn't help...

Here are screenshots of the problem:

Did this start happening recently, how long have you had the card?

Is your powersupply strong enough to run all your equipment?

Did you try bumping down the video settings like resolutions and other Nvidia settings to see? Could the card be overheating?

I'd suspect power issues first....but if you have a great power supply then your video card is faulty.

I had a BFG 5900 that was fine in windows, but any game would look like your screenshot...big polygons all over the place.
Exchanged for an MSI 5900 at the time and no problems since.

Yea, it may be a faulty video card. Try contacting BFG's tech support to see if they're any help. If anything, they'll tell you to RMA the video card because all of their video cards have a lifetime warranty so you may end up getting a new one.

btw...

It's not StyleXP; it's Windows XP Media Center Edition. That's the standard theme for Media Center PCs. ;)

Yeah this started happening recently. I have had the card for 2 months and have been able to play games and everything perfectly fine until now.

I highly doubt it is my power supply, I have a OCZ Modstream 450W PSU, and I dont have that many things hooked up to it (just the basics, hard drive, fans, cd/dvd drives...)

Here are my temps in windows (basically idle, I have firefox and AIM open...)

CPU: 35C
System: 16C
GPU: 62C (is this too high?)

EDIT: I just did a HUGE clean of my computer, got all that dust out. Temps are now:

CPU: 27C
System: 9C
GPU: 50C

But I still have the problem :(

lol, no problem. iTWoRxbRo is right, it just the media center theme for windows XP. You just download and install from here and choose it in your apperance settings (comes with readme).

If all else fails, this is what I will do. (Not sure if I will be able to handle a week without a (good) video card :p)

Thanks guys for your help so far!

Sorry man, but with that power supply, it only leaves your card at fault. You'll have to RMA it. It's definitely bad. :(

Thanks everyone for your help, I'll let you know how the RMA goes :) (hopefully good!)
