Problems with my amd64 3200+

Whenever i change settings in my bios, i believe it is just when i raise the HTT(as in this is the only setting that causes me problems when i try and change it), and try and exit the bios and save them, my computer stays on and just beeps, nothing is on the screen, its like it is stuck in reboot mode or something, and even if i turn it off and then back on it does the same thing. THe only way i have been able to cure this is to reset the cmos, thankfully mine is just a button.

This is a huge issue for me, i have no idea why it keeps doing this, does anyone know? I obviously need to be able to change this, since its a huge part of overclocking. I can raise the HTT in windows with a program for testing purposes, and i already know what im gonna overclock it to, and have actually tested that setting for 24hours in prime95 and it was stable, but it wont let me raise the HTT in the bios, HELP!

make sure you have a good, stable, venice supporting bios. if you do already, you should reflash it because it may be corrupted. one time, i maxed out my htt in the bios, and it got corrupted. i couldnt raise the htt 1mhz. i just reflashed and it was all ok.

I just reflashed my bios like two days ago with the teh new one from MSI, but i talked to someone that flashed it with a diamond bios, and im gonna get that one and see if that works.

i really dont think its my memory, because if i leave memory stock, and just raise the fsb 3mhz it will not restart. And even if i put the ram divider down and then raise the fsb a bit it still does the same thing.

Have you locked up AGP/PCI freq? You may need to change that a little to make it locked, eg, AGP goes from 66 to 67. I need to do that with my mobo.

I read about that, but have not did that, what does that do? And how would i do that, i dont have agp i have pci-e, if this even means vid cards. Let me know, thanks.

well, the best way to see if its locked, is to download clockgen, and move the fsb slider up. if the pci and pcie dials move, its unlocked, if they dont, youre all set.

well then it is locked, because i used clockgen to raise my fsb and test the stability with prime and it didnt move. But that is the weird thing, i can raise my fsb in windows but in the bios is where i have the problem, it wont let me alter teh fsb, if i do it wont post, and ive tried everything.

Anybody have any other solutions, no one has experienced this? I find it hard to believe i am the first to experience some new problem, come on peeps i need help.. Thanks for replies
