Problems with MX300

I can't get my Monster Sound MX300 to work with my Abit KT7. When I try to play games my comp either freezes, kicks me back to desktop or reboots. When I take the MX300 out I can play games for hours with no problems. I heard using the Aureal 2048 drivers would fix the problem but using them didn't help. Is there any way to get the MX300 to work with the KT7 or do I have to buy a new sound card?

Some questions:

1. Did you completely uninstall the old drivers before you updated to the Aureal Refs?
2. Is your MX300 sharing any IRQs with any devices other than "IRQ/PCI Steering"?
3. Are you running with SB16 Emulation enabled?
4. Are you running the latest VIA drivers?

Please answer so we can help.

1.Yes, I completely unistalled the old drivers, and I deleted the registry keys of the old drivers.
2.The MX300 isn't sharing any IRQs
3.I disabled the SB16 Emulation
4.I'm using the Via 4.24 drivers.

i have the mx300 and what gave me a problem was the dos drivers i reinstall the software and removed the dos drivers and now it works fine

I feel like an idiot now. The problem isn't my MX300, it's my ram. I have KTI(Kingmax)PC133 7ns but for some reason it won't run at 133mhz. I put my MX300 in last night and I got 3DMark2000 to run a few times, but my comp started to reboot again. Then I remebered that I had problems running the ram at 133mhz on my BE6-II, so I went into the BIOS and changed the ram to 100mhz. I haven't had any problems since.

I had a problem with the Kingmax TBGA PC133 not wanting to run at 133 if it was set at CAS2 on my KA7. Setting it to CAS3 turbo worked fine. I have since moved up to the Mosel Vitelic Rev 2, and it is running at 146MHz CAS2 turbo no problem. There was an article about the Kingmax not working well with the KA7. KingMax Article It seems the newer revision took care of the trouble. It may apply to the KT7 also, and would explain your problem.
