I have a MS-6309 Motherboard. Yesterday I updated my motherboard to bios verison 1.6 and now I want let you know that it has 3 problems:
1) Memory performace with this bios has fallen down of about 50% (using for test Sandra2000).
2) Hardware monitor measuraments under both Win98 and Win2000 using PCalert 3.3.4 are wrong.
3) Also reinstalling older bios versions doesn't resolve the memory issue.

This is my system configuration:
- MS-6309
- CPU Intel Celeron II 566 Mhz.
- Dimm M.Tech 64 MB SDRAM 7 ns CAS2 PC133 Certified
- Matrox G400 SH 16 MB AGP
- Seagate 13,6 GB 7200 RPM 512K
- SB Live! Player 1024 PCI
- Lucent WinModem 56k V.90 PCI

If someone experienced the same problems, please let me know :)

Make sure that your ram timings in the bios is set to what they were before the flash. Flashes usually reset the bios. I know that this board resets it quite a lot, even when swapping CPUs. Abit nor Asus do that. Flashing it back to the 1.5 didn't solve your problems so it doesn't sound like a bios revision thing. Just check your ram timings.
And for hardware monitor, try using Motherboard Monitor.

I already tried all possible solutions, also those you suggested, but the problems still persist.

Thank you :)

Same here!

I try all possible with timing, but no help. Memory performance significant lower. I update because bios report wrong CPU speed. Now I feel sorry. I want to go back to previous Bios but forgot what version. Will someone confirm this.

Thanks.

Try this:

1. short the cmos jumper to reset the defaults, boot, enter the bios.

2. referring to the manual, sec 3.8, disable clkgen spread spectrum, set the cpu host clock to 100 (overclocking, I presume)

3. Sec 3.4, this is where it gets weird. Enabling spd disables the next two settings- change them all you want, doesn't matter. Disabling spd allows for manual memory settings. At least one forum member had problems here with his celeron2- He reported that with pc133 ram and spd enabled, he had to set "cpu in order queue" to "1" OR disable spd, set the ram speed to 100, and then could use "cpu in order queue" at "4".

4. Set up your other stuff as usual, save & exit.

ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED! :)

Today MSI has released Bios version 1.7, that solved the issues with memory, and PC Alert v3.3.6, that solved issues with hardware monitor! Thanks to all for your help :)
